The next competition will be a painting competition entitled ‘Our Highams Park’. It will be launched on Monday 12th January 2026.

The last competition that the Highams Society ran was a photographic competition entitled ‘Pets of Highams Park’.

There were approaching 100 entries submitted from which a panel of three judges selected the photographs for the first, second, third, highly commended and taken by under 12 year old categories.

The judging took place in October 2024 and the winning pictures were then display at the Hale End Library.

The results are:
First – Chloe Connell. ‘Westa’ is our guide dog this is her after a day of working hard.
Second – Alex and Sera Messant. The cat is called Barry.
Third – Stephanie Francis. Two borders at the Royal Oak.
Highly Commended – Scott Rance. The judges like this photograph for its comedy value.
Under 12 – Aiyla Malique aged 10 years. The cat is called Loki.

The organisers wish to thank the three judges, especially Juliet Thomas who is a professional artist and was the external judge for the competition.
